Russell Hobbs
Automatic Electric Coffee Percolator 1968

In 1968 (span to each side of this date is unknown) Russell Hobbs produced an attractive Coffee Percolator with a china pot, available in a variety of plain pastel colours. It featured a special "keep hot" device, a pilot light and a time-control selector. This example is in the subtle off-white "thrift" pattern.

Automatic Electric Tea Maker

Russell Hobbs also produced a matching "Tea Maker" featuring a china pot and metal kettle.

It was available with an optional alarm clock into which you could plug rhe teamaker on one side and a bedside lamp on the other, making this model Russell Hobbs' first foray into the teawaker market.

The Tea Maker was available in two finishes: plain brown china (believed to be the older example) and the "thrift" pattern.

An assortment of china was available to co-ordinate with the coffee and tea makers.

The boxed "morning teaset" comprised a pair of cups and saucers, a sugar basin and a cream jug.

A shallow pot accompanied the teamaker, a place to store the teapot lid when it was not in place on the pot.
